Major Moscow's Strikes Cut Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced disruption to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a minor was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has increased assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and implementing sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles targeted energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and residential structures in the capital.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the assaults on the city have been hospitalized, per statements from municipal representatives.

Local officials said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and three other people were hurt.

The attacks follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, parts of which are occupied by Moscow's military.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already impacting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
